Families required to form New School Development Group. Start date: September 2008. Venue: Bethany School, Sheffield.

CFS Ltd. are running a course which will be of interest to parents who are considering Christian education for their children. The course will be held on three evenings in September / October 2008. Teachers or student teachers who would like to explore the challenging concept of Christian education would be very welcome to attend.

Monday 29 September – What is Biblical parenting? This evening focusses on the biblical view of a child,  the responsibilities that the Bible gives to parents and the part that a school should play in supporting  parents in their work of nurturing their children.

Monday 13 October – What is a Christian Family School? This session involves an investigation into the distinctive features of a CFS. We will show how these distinctives have been developed and the way they contribute to creating a happy and successful learning environment.

Monday 20 October – What is Christian education? Tonight we will scratch at the surface of the CFS topic-based curriculum model. We will look how a Christian world view affects the way subjects  are taught and make comparisons with what the secular National Curriculum model teaches our children.

This course will introduce the basic ideas behind the Christian Family Schools model of education and be a springboard for parents who would like to be involved with developing the third CFS school in Sheffield.
