Emmaus School Prayer and Newsletter
May 2008
‘The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn His face towards you and give you peace.’ Numbers 6:24-26
Thank you all so much for your continued prayers, they are very much appreciated.
Ofsted
Most people probably know that we were given a ‘good’ by Ofsted before Easter, which is something to rejoice in and to give much thanks to God for. We asked for favour and definitely got it, as the inspector understood what we are doing and liked it, praise God!
The children
The children continue to grow in confidence and in relationship with each other and the teachers. It has been great seeing the reception children come out of their shells over the year, though they can now be more of a handful than they were in September! As always we would value prayer that the children’s relationship with their Heavenly Father becomes more and more real to them, and that head knowledge of God becomes a loving, personal relationship with their Creator and Saviour.
Families
One new family is due to start in September; the rest of the reception year will be made up of siblings. We pray that this family will feel welcomed and will settle in quickly. Other families are showing interest, but we would like to see each year full, and we’d like some girls in the top end of the school!
Teachers
We continue to give thanks to God for His provision of Liesel and Val as our qualified teachers. They work very hard for the school. May God bless every area of their lives. We have also had two volunteers working with us who are training to be teachers who are both very helpful.
Buildings
We are unable to remain in our current building after the summer, and are currently searching for alternatives. We are looking for a permanent building which could house primary, and secondary if possible, but we also need somewhere temporary while this is found. Please pray that we find the building God has for us before September. Also, if anyone knows of any building that could accommodate a school of 18 children, please let us know.
Finances
God continues to provide for the running of the school, but we are aware that we may have higher running costs once we move buildings. We are looking for people who could become friends of Emmaus and donate to us on a regular basis. Please pray for this and for God’s continued provision.
Thank you.
We regularly pray together. All are welcome.
